Controversy Sells?
CockBoys.com is releasing scenes with a model, who stands accused of Murder, claiming that people are innocent until proven guilty, but is that why the scenes are being released? According to an article in xbiz, this gay site filmed this model, and that it was one of the hottest scenes they ever filmed.
“The American system of justice holds a man innocent until proven guilty,” CockyBoys.com founder Kyle Majors said. “And in that vein, CockyBoys would like to wish its talented sexual performer Nickolay Petrov the best. We hope the stories circulating around this trial are untrue, and that all parties honor the standards that allow the accused a fair trial.” (source - xbiz)
I just don’t know about all this. I mean accusations are always out there, and yes, the concept is that until proven, one is innocent. However, I just don’t see this as being about the scene being hot, but more about capitalizing on the noteriety associated with the model. Yes, people will be curious, specially if you have a porn shoot showing the guy, and it being perhaps his last shoot.
So is this about making hay while the sun is shining on this tragedy, and if it is, is that wrong?
For me, I think it is. but it seems to be accepted practice in other walks of life. But does it not also generate ill will for an Industry already realing from bad press?
