Protecting Your Blog Admin

on phoneInteresting article on Matt Cutts Blog regarding protecting the admin section of Wordpress Blogs. I mean really, these days it seems we spend a lot of time just searching for ways to protect our asses, instead of doing the things we love, like writing stories (in my case) or in promoting our sites.

The basic solution, to simply add an ‘htaccess‘ file to your ‘wp-admin‘ folder, that only allows access to your own IP. If you check out his blog, the code is listed on what to use, and he also has suggested dropping a blank ‘index.html‘ page into the ‘plugin‘ directory to prevent leaks.

I think my biggest gripe with some of these programs, like Wordpress, is that they don’t explain things simply. It is always in ‘geek speak‘ and for a blond like me, well it is a foreign language.
