Ethics & Profits
Over in the Gay Market, there is a great deal of discussion regarding ‘bareback‘ porn and its promotion. While not really an issue in the Straight Market, I wonder if the fact that there is still this misconception that AIDS is simply a Gay Disease? Or is it that it is no longer the Automatic Death Sentence it once was?
Either way, it is interesting to follow, as people wrestle with their own ethics on whether to promote it or not, due to the risks associated with Condomless Sex.
Simple truth is, that promoting sex without any protection is a risk, though right now a highly profitable venue. Anyone with a video recorder, some decent software, can become a Porn Producer. Yet do we take into account the risks when we are driven by the need to push the envelope with models? Do we take into account the high medical costs that WILL occur when a model becomes infected with any disease, because they engaged in unprotected sex?
Not just the killers like AIDS, but what about Hep C, Syphilis, and the other STD’s? Herpes is another, and I wonder, do we even care anymore, or are we so driven by profits that we ignore the potential health risks? Do we simply leave it up to the model, assuming they know the facts well enough to make such a decision? Is it really a ‘consumer‘ driven product or one we manufactured?
