Truth Takes A Holiday

It is interesting at how so many drool over the almighty buck. I happen to like money, but there are things I won’t do for it, no matter how much is offered. Still I wonder, at how so many seem to be blinded by the glitter of cash.

Take Review Sites.

They were a good concept, one that exploded on the Adult Industry. Surfers lapped it up, but only momentarily. Anyone ever wonder why? Could it be that each review also included a link to the site being reviewed, with an affiliate code attached?

Yes, there are still some honest review sites out there, but they are far outnumbered by those who do nothing but glorify what is basically a crap site. All in the hope of garnering a sale or two, then they whine and bitch when suddenly no one comes calling to their website. You would think they would get a clue from that, but nope, they bitch that it is because there is so much free porn out there, they can’t compete, or that people aren’t interested in reading anymore.

In short, excuses for their own transgressions.

Surfers aren’t stupid. They have a brain and are looking for some entertainment. When they find someone touting a site, and spend a buck or two on that recommendation, they are not going to keep coming back when the recommendations sucks wind. They lose trust, and move on, and that is why sites disappear. The amount of rookie traffic or gullible traffic isn’t endless.

Let’s face it, it is a tough nut to get someone who doesn’t know you, has no idea who you are, to part with their credit card number. When they do, and you chisel them, screw them, they don’t come back for more. They run, and they spread the word like wildfire. It is an old business maximum, that for every unhappy customer who tells you that, there are at least 10 more who haven’t.

Something to consider when you are thinking about doing a review for your website.
