Does anyone recall the days when the top online billing processor for adult was IBill? I do, in fact they still have some money of mine, but that is another story. Hell, there was Stormpay, Ikobo, Moneybookers, that all handles Adult Web Processing. Alas, they have all disappeared from the market, as adult processors.

Ikobo still owes me money too come to think of it.

Point is, that the choices for webmasters is dwindling as usual. New outfits pop up, like PayAsYouClick and for a bit they do the job. They process, no real headaches, then suddenly it all goes to shit. Overnight, you find out that your ability to take money with them is gone, that it is only ‘temporary‘ but then hours drag into days, that become weeks and yes, months.

So what is the solution? Your own Merchant Account? Or do you go with one of the few remaining processing outfits like ccBill and Epoch?

I wonder too, if we even realize what kind of narrowing of the field that processing for adult is becoming? Are we concerned, given the political climate in Washington? Does it matter, do we even bother to care?

Adultcheck started ACPay, and despite the constant denials, it too went by the wayside, and come to think of it, so too has AdultCheck. It has changed its model, so as the credit crunch happens, when porn should be selling like hotcakes, we are stuck with limited choice of processors.
