SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is really more common sense than most people wish to acknowledge. Good for those selling their services though, but it seems so many in the Adult Industry are loathed to comprehend, good SEO tactics, means great Traffic, and that means SALES.

I have been in a discussion on another forum, and it occurs to me that we tend to ignore the viability of good SEO planning from the get go. For example, do you consider it when purchasing your domain name? Most don’t and by itself, having a keyword domain isn’t the end all either. In all honesty it can also be a lot of work, and I think that in itself is why most ignore the naming conventions. We are lazy by nature I think, yet we all want that golden ring, don’t we?

Good choices for keywords, in your domain, help if you follow a natural progression. Something we also seem to ignore. For example, we are loathe to follow good english phrasing when we look for our page names, within the domain. Part of that is because we didn’t plan ahead, when choosing our domain name.

I am just as quilty as the next on that one, except for my main website, Gaystoryman.

Think is this, if we have a site like mine, there is a natural order in naming pages. Be dumb to ignore the SE benefits that a natural flow can create. Example is that I do stories, so to have a page called gay-fiction would seem natural, but not when put together with my domain name.  gaystoryman gay fiction  just isn’t natural.

However, using fiction is, gaystoryman fiction is more natural sounding, and something the bots will notice. Not huge deal, right? By itself no, but if I make that page, ‘fiction’ tailored to just that, fiction, it can have a good effect when I also add in incoming links to the page, using various keyword phrases.   erotic fiction, original fiction, and so on that become anchor text, all help to enforce that page’s keyword.. fiction.

In short, this isn’t rocket science, but maybe it should be. We might pay more attention to the little things. After all, when I add up my change from the day, those quarters suddenly become dollars.  So just like your pocket change, the attention to the little details, eventually can add up to some decent rankings and good traffic, and that means no chump change in the pocket, but real money.

Something to consider before you jump up and down with a domain name like big boob women.  I mean what names can you use after that?
