- Organize Series
- Revision Control
- Site Map Plugin
There is no doubt, having a site map is a help to your SEO strategy, and many opt for those that produce an XML site map, that sends an update notice to Google, and other Search Engines, every time you update a post.
One reason to use the Revision Plugin so you aren’t constantly sending an update to Google, and they wind up thinking you are spamming them. Another reason to use a Ping Plugin, however what about the most important visitor of all?
Your Customers.
The Dragon Design Site Map Generator is the one I use, that allows me to set up a page, that lists all the posts and pages of my blog. In addition to being basically a set up and forget it plugin, it also is a great page to throw up some extra advertising banners, or commentary on your site. Something you can’t do with an XML sitemap.
And it helps the customer find what they might be looking for, in an easy to use format. PLUS it does match most themes, in styles.
It does update, and takes about 2 minutes to set up, and have it showing. It becomes a page, usually on your top navigation bar of the blog.
SEE IT IN ACTION HERE or at My Gay Talk Blog, HERE.
I also like it, because it allows me to find my posts, and grab a quick permanent link to them, for including in a different post. In short, it becomes an easy reference tool, to be able to find other similar posts, and get the link, to use in a new post. And that helps you create some great internal deep linking.
