Color makes a big difference online. It is a visual attraction, or turn off.
It makes sense to have some color in your writing, or in your site layout, because frankly, black on white (unless its sexual) can be a boring experience. At the same time, various colors have a mental impact on your customer, so choosing the right combination, is important.
Personally, I don’t put much stock in colors triggering some hidden desire to buy, or to puke, or whatever, but then, I am no shrink.
Basically, adding color is not hard to do, because like everything online, if you have the code, you can get the result you want.
W3C Schools has a nifty little guide, for choosing colors. It lists not only the color and shades, but if you click on it, you can see what ‘bold’ text of other colors will look like.
Helps when you are thinking of what color to make text, headlines, or just have a background shade.
