Like any business, if you don’t have the goods, you are not going to make much money. Online, that generally refers to Pictures or Videos. However, there are other goods available.
There are Adult Toys for example, which can run from Dildo’s to selling Condoms to even gag gifts like printed toilet paper. All sorts of goodies are available, but like any business, there are zoning laws in place.
For example, several States don’t allow the sale of Adult Toys. If you do sell them, you can go to jail, and that ain’t no BS.
Pictures and Videos are also covered by laws, and again, it depends on where you live, what country you are in. For example Communist China is on a Anti Porn Crusade right now, but then the US Congress has been too, under the Bush Administration.
Laws exist, and it is YOUR OBLIGATION TO KNOW THEM.
So, bottom line here, is that when you choose what you want to sell online, you better check to see IF YOU CAN, & WHERE YOU CAN. Just because your host is in the Netherlands, doesn’t make you exempt from US Law if you live in say Grand Rapids.
Content is really a blend of both Pictures (graphics) and Text.
Without text, the SE (search engines) won’t be able to properly index your site, and that makes it hard to get qualified buyers to your site. After all, that is your primary goal. YOU NEED CUSTOMERS.
The days of simply throwing up a picture, telling them where they can see more, is well, GONE. Today it is as complex as any business, except the competition is Tremendous. I mean search the word ‘porn’ and you will be stunned at how many pages are indexed, that relate to Porn. That is part of your Competition, so before you start buying stuff, think long on hard about becoming an Adult Webmaster.
The hours suck, and that is no lie.
The pay is pennies for the hours you work, and while it does improve, that is only after a long period of time, and lots of good solid work ethics, and oh yeah, LOADS OF LUCK.
