What do you do when you simply don’t have the time, to manually add blog posts, and still want to keep them active?
ADD SPONSOR FEEDS.
Least that is the supposed mantra, and to be honest, it is what I have done on a few of my own blogs, simply due to time constraints. I mean, it isn’t easy to just sit down, write a ton of blog posts, when each one has to be unique.
There are the pictures to sort through, the collags to make, and frankly, when you have other issues, like tending to an aged parent, there simply isn’t the time to do it all. Nor is there the uninterrupted time, which is also as important, as having the time.
Sponsor Feeds (you can see an example at my Erotic Ramblings Blog) are supposed to be a solution. For me, I am lettng them be as they are provided, but I have to say, even that isn’t ideal. And there is the rub.
If you plan on a decent SEO strategy, the bottom line is that you need to adjust every feed, or blog post, to try and make them unique. I am NOT doing that, as I said, but this is a case of “do what I say, not what I do”.
After all, there are hundreds, if not more, using that very same text, that comes with each feed. Now talk about DUPLICATE CONTENT! However, not everyone can take the time, so how do you combat that? I suppose my hope, is that there is enough original content on the site, that it will avoid any penalty, but there is no guarantees.
In our rush for automation, we are perhaps forgetting, that cardinal rule, about content. It should be as unique as possible, to snatch those customers, and to keep them coming back. Now one way, to use Sponsor Feeds is to set the default to have all feed posts, held for review, or as drafts, instead of posting automatically.
This way, as time permits, you can review the feeds, make alterations to the text, before posting them. That will give you the necessary pictures, as well as a starting point for the text. Now, I haven’t exactly tried that yet, because again, it is about managing my time. I need to have the time to focus, to play around with it, but I think its a doable solution.
