When you ” MINE ” a URL or snippet of code, it generally means, that you are digging a selected piece, out of a group of data, or information.

For example, to ” MINE ” the spam URL’s one simply has to check your admin section in Wordpress, for spam.  ( least if you use Akismet, this works )

As you can see, the domain name and the IP address are linked, and one really doesn’t need to have the whole thing. Course you can use the ” domain name ” if you want, to block it, but I simply want the IP address.

I just copy that to my Excel Spreadsheet, and drop it into my column of  ‘add to’ so I can then go on to the next. I know, it’s a pain in the ass, but hey, it works, sort of.

You do the same thing if you go through your logs, or any large amount of data.

Mining, is simply a fancy way to say digging out the stuff you want.
