LINK JUICE is in reference to the popularity, of your site, within the Search Engines.
In most instances, it refers to the Page Rank given to a site, by Google that is passed on. Well, a part of it is.
Now, Page Rank is a depreciated value, but what the term means, is that a site has so much ‘authority’ and when it passes that authority onwards, the slang term used is Link Juice.
Frankly, it is simply the sharing of the sites popularity, which can be of some benefit, to new sites just beginning.
When you give another site a link, you are also telling the Search Engines, that you accept that site as being creditable, of some value.
The problem that occurs, is that we have no idea how much weight, the search engines, give to those ‘votes‘ for other sites. It could be a lot, or very minuscule.
The more savvy webmaster, guards his ‘juice‘ as if it was a newborn. It is precious, and should be carefully given out, so random linking strategies should NOT be a high priority for anyone.
