Glossary of TermsStatic Pages refers to basic HTML pages.

However, in blogging, it refers to pages that never change, or rarely change. Your ‘about’ page is a good example, but in Wordpress, you can make any Page Static.  This includes an HTML page you design, that can be linked to, as the main page or ENTRY page for your blog.

The idea is that these pages never change, and that the Search Engine crawlers, will move beyond it to the other pages, of your site.

Another reason these pages are called ’static’ is simply, you put them up, and they rarely are updated. You move on, building more and more pages, that are always there, hopefully making you money.
